H. 'September White'

Another blue variety joins the assortment, all the way from Chatham, ON, one of 9 plants that arrived here Friday June 12/09.

A bit of a puzzler that name, isn't it? Well, not so much when you're told it blooms with white flowers in September.....

By 15 August 2011 we've gone substantially beyond the single shoot stage and we'll see it live up to its name this year, by the looks of it. It'll be close to September by the time the first of the flowers opens up.

With going from a single shoot division to this in its 3rd year here, ain't no doubt about its vigour.

As you can see, I didn't have to wait until September, this was shot on 27th August, 2011. The flower opens up with just a blush of colour, don't know if I'd called it white though. Ample blooms on the scapes, too early to tell if it sets pods.
