H. 'Snow Cap'

Hosta 'Snow Cap'Yet another example of incorrectly labeled bare root plants. These were supposed to be 'Blue Ivory' and it became evident very quickly that they were anything but. A posting on one of the forums I hang out steered me in the right direction. What ended up clinching it for me was the colour of the flowers: white. Just like the flowers shown in the Hosta Library listing.

Hosta 'Snow Cap'When the leaves first began to unfurl I was a little concerned about a couple of them, they looked puckered, and puckering could be an indication of HVX. That was all before I'd nailed the ID and now that I have, I feel much better about those puckers, they're quite normal for this variety when you look at the pictures shown in the Hosta Library.
