H. 'Snow Cap'

Yet another example of incorrectly labeled bare root plants. These were supposed to be 'Blue Ivory' and it became evident very quickly that they were anything but. A posting on one of the forums I hang out steered me in the right direction. What ended up clinching it for me was the colour of the flowers: white. Just like the flowers shown in the Hosta Library listing.

When the leaves first began to unfurl I was a little concerned about a couple of them, they looked puckered, and puckering could be an indication of HVX. That was all before I'd nailed the ID and now that I have, I feel much better about those puckers, they're quite normal for this variety when you look at the pictures shown in the Hosta Library.
