H. 'Goober'

There are some plants you just gotta have because of the name, and need I say more. It's a mini with green corrugated, pebbled, rippled margined leaves.

It's remarkable what a couple of days of rehydration will do to straighten out a newly planted Hosta division.

While it showed decent growth in its first year, it didn't flower. This 'Peanut' sport is supposed to have corrugated, pebbled, rippled margin leaves, but none of that showed this year, not surprising in some respects. You can see hints of corrugation in some of the leaves, but that's about it. Can't wait to see what next year brings.

While I didn't take any pictures of the plant itself over 2011 -and it grew quite nicely, I might add- I did record the unusual scape and flowers I saw on it in mid-September 2011.
