H.'Cinnamon Sticks'

No doubt what drew me to this cultivar: the red petioles. This division came to me mid-May 2012 and as the picture shows it was a little frost-bitten when it emerged. On top of that it was rather limp when it arrives here from not being shipped properly, but is seems to have recovered fairly well by the end of that month.

Some of the leaves are not looking all that great by early July, but the plant seems to be hanging in there and has put up some new growth, and that's really all I can ask for.

By mid-August there are obvious signs of slug damage and I'm a little disappointed that even by late September there is no sign of scapes, let alone flowers. I would have loved to have seen the flowers on it. Oh well, there's always next year...
